Inter Milan may not be able to resist certain offers for top stars such as Nicolo Barella and Marcus Thuram this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

The last few summers have followed a familiar pattern at Inter.

The Nerazzurri have seen a number of big name players depart. This has been the result of the club’s need to bring in the cash from sales for high transfer fees.

The likes of Achraf Hakimi, Romelu Lukaku, Marcelo Brozovic, and Andre Onana have all left in big money deals.

Meanwhile, Milan Skriniar left on a free transfer last summer. This followed negotiations between Inter and Paris Saint-Germain for the Slovakian the previous summer transfer window.

In the summer of 2021, Inter needed to generate a massive profit in the transfer market in order to balance the books amid a pandemic-related financial crisis.

Last summer, on the other hand, the Nerazzurri had a “net zero” transfer window.

In other words, Inter did not need to bring in a net profit from sales. However, they could not spend any money in the transfer market without first making sales.

This summer will reportedly also be a “net zero” market.

Inter Could Struggle To Resist Offers For Top Stars This Summer

Reports suggest that Inter’s priority for this summer will be to keep the existing squad together.

It is not hard to see why. The Nerazzurri have just clinched the Serie A title in dominant fashion, and hardly want to see any key players head for the exit door.

Reports have indicated that Inter would prefer to keep all of their big names rather than any high-profile, big money signings this summer.

However, Tuttosport report, the situation with the club’s ownership and finances could put a spanner in the works.

If an offer of 80 million or more were to come in for Nicolo Barella or Alessandro Bastoni, Inter could struggle to resist.

Meanwhile, striker Marcus Thuram has a release clause of 85 million in his contract.
