Inter Milan will likely face Lazio and lift the Serie A title trophy on May 19th at 18.00 CET.

This according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipates that the match will be timed for maximum media coverage.

Inter have already done plenty of celebrating of their Serie A title triumph this season.

The Nerazzurri had their celebratory parade over the weekend. They took an open top bus from the San Siro to the Piazza Duomo after Sunday’s Serie A match against Torino.

That had followed the jubilant celebrations after clinching the title in the derby against AC Milan the previous Monday.

But there is still more to come.

A key aspect will be the awarding of the Serie A title trophy itself.

That always occurs in a team’s final home fixture of the season. In Inter’s case, they take on Lazio at the San Siro in the penultimate match of the season.

Inter’s final match of the campaign is away to Hellas Verona.

Therefore, it will be in the second-to-last match of the season that the trophy presentation ceremony happens in front of the Inter fans.

Inter Vs Lazio Serie A Clash & Trophy Presentation Likely Set For April 19th

The timing of the match between Inter and Lazio will therefore be important.

And the Gazzetta report that the Lega Serie A’s priority will be to maximize media exposure for the big event that is the trophy presentation.

Therefore, the newspaper anticipation, the match should take place on Sunday, May 19th.

The 18.00 CET slot would be the ideal kickoff for media exposure. Therefore, that will be the likely intention of the league.

However, nothing is set in stone just yet.

The Lega Serie A will wait until this round of European competitions is completed before deciding on the kickoff times for the penultimate round of fixtures.

This will be to accommodate the teams still in Europe.

Atalanta and Roma remain in the Europa League semifinals. And Fiorentina are alive in the Europa Conference League.
