Inter Milan are still in the race for AC Milan and Juventus linked Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, but must make a major sale first.

This according to Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews.

Zirkzee is certain to be one of the hottest names in the summer transfer window in Serie A.

And it is not hard to understand why.

Zirkzee has been in hugely impressive form all season. He has scored twelve goals and made four assists in the league.

The former Bayern Munich striker’s form has been key to Bologna’s surprise push for Champions League football.

That has led to the sense that Bologna will not be able to hang on to Zirkzee.

But the next destination for the 22-year-old has been less clear.

Inter Still In Race For Juventus & AC Milan Target Joshua Zirkzee – But Must Make Sale First

There is no getting around the 60 million price tag that Bologna will place on Zirkzee’s head, however.

That would be an enormous investment for a club like Inter.

Therefore, recent reports have indicated that the Dutchman would be likelier to go to Juventus or AC Milan.

However, there would be one condition on which Inter could certainly afford the fee for Zirkzee.

That would be in the event that the Nerazzurri sell a player for a very large fee themselves.

And in this respect, La Repubblica anticipate, there would be one candidate to leave above all.

That would be striker Marcus Thuram. The Frenchman may have only just arrived at Inter on a free transfer last summer.

However, Thuram is already a target for Paris Saint-Germain as the Ligue 1 giants aim to replace Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe.

La Repubblica report that Inter would consider listening to offers of 55-60 million for Thuram.

That would certainly give them enough cash on hand to make a move for Zirkzee.

Moreover, Inter would be looking for a direct replacement in attack in that instance. And Zirkzee would certainly be just that.
