Inter Milan’s move for Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson could hinge on the futures of Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The Nerazzurri could have to offload the duo this summer.

Gudmundsson looks to be something of a dream target for Inter this summer.

The 26-year-old Icelandic international is a player who the Nerazzurri have identified as having the right profile to complete their attacking options for next season.

There is certainly no questioning Gudmundsson’s quality at the Serie A level.

The former AZ Alkmaar forward has scored fourteen goals and made three assists for Genoa on the Ligurian team’s return to the top flight.

And Gudmundsson also has a style of play that the Nerazzurri don’t really have in their squad at the moment.

The Icelander is an accomplished dribbler and good in tight spaces.

But affording a move for Gudmundsson certainly won’t be easy.

Inter Move For Gudmundsson Could Hinge On Correa & Arnautovic Leaving

Tuttosport note that, for Inter to sign Gudmundsson, they will have to make a couple notable sales.

The Nerazzurri are thinking of offloading some fringe players in the squad.

The sales of players currently out on loan such as Martin Satriano and Gaetano Oristanio could go some way towards meeting Genoa’s asking price – at least 30 million – for Gudmundsson.

But that won’t be enough.

Tuttosport identify two players as key in any Inter move for Gudmundsson.

One is striker Arnautovic. The Austrian joined Inter last summer. However, the Nerazzurri could already be willing to sell him in order to help meet the asking price for Gudmundsson.

It would take an offer of at least 5 million for Inter to consider selling Arnautovic.

Then, Correa could also be back at Inter this summer.

If Marseille win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, they will be obligated to sign the Argentine for around 10 million.

But on the other hand, if the Ligue 1 club fail to do so, then Correa will be back at Inter.

In that case, the Nerazzurri would certainly want to sell the former Lazio forward for 7-8 million. That could go towards a move for Gudmundsson.
