Inter Milan have lined up a replacement for Christian Chivu as Under-19 coach as Ajax are eyeing up a move for the latter.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, report that the Nerazzurri have identified current Trento coach Francesco Baldini for the role.

Romanian former defender Chivu is currently coach of Inter’s Primavera or Under-19 team.

The 2010 Treble winner took over the Primavera side in the summer of 2021. He has been in charge for the past three seasons.

Chivu has enjoyed a positive stint in charge of the Inter Primavera team.

The 43-year-old has gained a reputation for having a strong rapport with young players, and a real propensity for developing young talent.

The likes of Giovanni Fabbian and Cesare Casadei have been among the players to break through under Chivu.

However, Chivu may not be at Inter for much longer.

Ajax are reportedly aiming to appoint the Romanian to the role of assistant coach.

Inter Line Up Baldini As Chivu Replacement As Ajax Loom

Prior to his time in Serie A with Roma and Inter, Chivu had played for Ajax.

And reports indicate that the Eredivisie giants want to bring the 43-year-old back in a coaching role.

Ajax are planning a major reshuffle in the summer, including on the bench. And they want Chivu to take on a role as assistant coach – with a view to eventually becoming the head coach.

Therefore, Inter must think about replacing Chivu in his current role.

And according to Tuttosport, it is Trento coach Baldini who the Nerazzurri want.

The 50-year-old is currently in charge of the Serie C side, having taken over earlier this year. He has also coached the likes of Perugia, Catania, and Vcenza recently.

Moreover, Baldini also had a spell in charge of the Under-19 team of Juventus.
