Fabrizio Biasin believes Inter Milan rate Albert Gudmundsson highly, but “haven’t taken any steps” to sign the Genoa forward.

The Italian journalist spoke to Italian news outlet FCInter1908 regarding the transfer links between the Nerazzurri and the 26-year-old Icelandic international.

Over the past few weeks, Gudmundsson’s name has been strongly linked to Inter.

Reports suggest that the Nerazzurri see the Genoa star as a strong candidate to complete their attack for the upcoming season.

However, there would be some major obstacles towards Inter completing a deal for Gudmundsson.

First of all, the price tag could potentially be prohibitive for the Nerazzurri.

Genoa are hardly going to let a player who has scored fourteen goals and made three assists in Serie A this season go for cheap.

Reports have indicated that the Grifone will hold out for around 35 million to sell Gudmundsson.

Biasin: Inter “Haven’t Taken Any Steps” To Sign Albert Gudmundsson

Inter could aim to make a deal happen by structuring the payment as an initial loan containing a purchase obligation.

However, even then, it would certainly be a significant investment for the Nerazzurri.

Then, there is the question of whether Gudmundsson is the player who Inter would want to allocate a significant chunk of their transfer budget towards.

There is no doubt that Inter will make signings this summer. And there will be money to spend, as the Nerazzurri do have players who they can cash in on to raise funds.

However, a move for Gudmundsson could eat into the budget significantly. If Inter want to make reinforcements in other areas such as the defense, that would hardly be ideal.

For his part, Italian journalist Biasin is urging caution regarding the links.

“They do rate Gudmundsson very highly,” he said.

“But at the moment, Inter have not taken any steps to sign the player.”

“It’s just a matter of them being admirers of the Genoa forward. As a lot of clubs are.”
