Inter Milan’s squad will return to training on Wednesday ahead of this weekend’s Serie A match against Lazio.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

The light at the end of the tunnel is now clearly visible for Inter.

The Nerazzurri will have just two more matches in Serie A. First, they host Lazio at the San Siro on Sunday evening.

Then, there will be a league outing away to relegation-battlers Hellas Verona for Inter to sign off.

The Nerazzurri have already clinched the Serie A title. They did so a few weeks ago, in the derby against AC Milan.

However, that does not mean that there is not a desire to end the season on a high note.

Inter had shown that with their 2-0 win over Torino, in the first match after clinching the title. That match came before the Nerazzurri’s celebratory parade.

Then came a 0-1 loss away to Sassuolo. That result perhaps showed a drop-off resulting from the lack of a need of a result for the title.

But then on Friday in another away match, Inter blew Frosinone away 5-0. Perhaps responding to the loss in Emilia-Romagna, the Nerazzurri showed that the hunger is still there.

Inter Return To Training On Wednesday Ahead Of Lazio Clash

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi gave his players four days of rest after the win over Frosinone.

The coach is aware of the need to take opportunities to rest and recover whenever they present themselves.

Therefore, the Inter squad did not train over the weekend. They also will not be training today or tomorrow.

But on Wednesday the Nerazzurri players will be back in training.

And there will be every motivation to try and get a convincing win over Lazio in the final match at San Siro of the season.

That will be the match after which the Nerazzurri receiver the Serie A title trophy.

And as Inter had secured a win prior to their celebratory parade, they will certainly hope to do so prior to the trophy presentation.
