Athletico Paranaense and Brazil goalkeeper Bento is getting closer and closer to a move to Inter Milan this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter look to have lined 24-year-old Brazilian international Bento as one of their first priority targets of the summer transfer window.

The Athletico Paranaense keeper is the player the Nerazzurri as their long-term future in goal.

The plan would be to have Bento initially be the backup to Yann Sommer between the posts. Then, in the next year or two, the Brazilian could inherit the starting spot.

Inter had already shown an interest in Bento last summer.

But this time around, it is more than just an idea from the Nerazzurri. They are very much ready to make the decisive move to sign Bento.

Athletico Paranaense Keeper Bento Inching Towards Inter Move

The Corriere note that even Athletico’s coach has admitted that Bento wants a move to European football, and that it is very unlikely that the Brazilian club will be able to keep hold of their young keeper.

This only adds to the sense that a transfer is inevitable for Bento this summer.

And reports have long suggested that the 24-year-old’s priority is to join Inter.

The only question, therefore, is how the negotiations will go between Inter and Athletico.

Bento’s club reportedly want at least 20 million for Bento. That is a reflection of the fact that the keeper is now a full Brazilian international, and quite a few European clubs are keen on his signature.

Inter may not be too reluctant to simply meet Athletico’s asking price.

The Nerazzurri can raise that amount through sales. And they want to swoop and complete a deal for Bento.

Athletico Paranaense reportedly promised Bento last summer that if he was to stay for one more year, they would allow him to leave for the club of his choosing this time around.

The question now is whether the Brazilian club are ready to keep that promise.
