Legendary former Nerazzurri defender Maicon believes that it’s very likely goalkeeper Bento will make the move to Inter Milan this summer.

Speaking to the ForzaBrasile channel, via FCInterNews, the 2010 Treble winner suggested that the 24-year-old keeper is already gearing up to sign a contract with the Nerazzurri.

Inter look to have lined 24-year-old Brazilian international Bento as one of their first priority targets of the summer transfer window.

The Athletico Paranaense keeper is the player the Nerazzurri as their long-term future in goal.

The plan would be to have Bento initially be the backup to Yann Sommer between the posts. Then, in the next year or two, the Brazilian could inherit the starting spot.

Inter had already shown an interest in Bento last summer.

But this time around, it is more than just an idea from the Nerazzurri. They are very much ready to make the decisive move to sign Bento.

Maicon Predicts Goalkeeper Bento Will Join Inter Milan This Summer

Reportedly, Bento actually wants to join Inter this summer. That would certainly help the Nerazzurri in their efforts to sign the 24-year-old.

But that would not mean that a move would not be without obstacles.

There would be the matter of convincing the player’s club Athletico Paranaense. Reportedly, the Brazilian team want 20 million to sell their starting goalkeeper.

But asked about the possibility of a move for Bento to Inter, Maicon said that “I think it will happen.”

“I spoke with some people behind the scenes,” said the former Brazilian international.

“And I think it will happen.”

“Because Sommer is starting to get on in terms of his age. And in the last few matches Bento has been in great form. Including with the Brazilian national team.”

“Inter’s directors are already watching this,” said Maicon.

“I believe that Bento has all the qualities to make the move to Milano. And I think that he’s already signing a contract with them.”
