Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento is happy to land on the shortlist of Inter Milan, even though the Italian champions have yet to make a concrete bid.

The 24-year-old has been a transfer target for the Nerazzurri since last summer. However, a deal never materialized at the time.

However, many believe that the Brazilian club has promised the shot-stopper he can leave this summer for the right offer.

Therefore, Inter could launch another onslaught this summer for the player who has recently become a Brazil international.

Bento would thus replace Emil Audero as Yann Sommer’s understudy. But the club would expect to take the torch from the Swiss veteran in the future.

For his part, the Brazilian is content with the Nerazzurri’s interest, but reveals that he hasn’t received a formal offer just yet.

“What I know is speculation. Inter only inquired about me, but they didn’t make an official proposal,” explained the custodian in his post-match interview following his team’s clash against Danubio via FcInterNews.

“I’m happy that they mentioned my name. It’s the result of my hard work and my good performances here at Athletico.

“If A proposal eventually arrives, we’ll see what happens. We will meet with the club and my agents.

“We will seek the best solution for everyone involved.”

Athletico Paranaense Goalkeeper Bento Pleased With Inter Milan Interest

This season, Bento has made 24 appearances in all competitions thus far. He has conceded 14 goals in the process and registered 13 clean sheets.

As we reported earlier today, Inter have also identified alternative solutions in case they fail in their bid to sign the Brazilian.

This includes Genoa’s Josep Martinez and Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio. Moreover, Emil Audero’s stay remains an option.
