Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco lauds his teammate Marcus Thuram for the integral role he played in the club’s success this season.

The Frenchman joined the club as a free agent last summer. Following the departures of Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku, he stepped up to the plate and proved himself worthy of a starting berth.

The 26-year-old formed a deadly partnership with club captain Lautaro Martinez upfront.

Therefore, Thuram pays homage to Thuram who played a key role in the club’s title-winning campaign.

The Italian insists he immediately believed in his teammate following his arrival at Appiano Gentile.

“Marcus was decisive in several matches,” said the Italian left-back in his interview with Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews.

“I honestly believed in him straight away, then he proved how valuable he is.”

Dimarco also weighed in on the club’s success this season which few had envisioned.

“I am happy that this team along with this technical staff and the coach, have reached the finish line in Serie A.

“This is thanks to our hard work every single day. A year ago, no one would have expected it.”

The Italy international is looking forward to next season which will be even busier.

“Next season, we will have a more packed schedule but it will be like all other campaigns.

“We will have some difficult matches to play and we will have to prove that we are a strong team like we did this year.”

Dimarco will soon turn his attention to the Italian national team who will defend the European crown at Euro 2024.

“We have to defend the title. We will go to Germany and we will give everything we have for the Azzurri shirt.”
