Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu says that Inter Milan want to “write as much history as possible” over the coming seasons.

The 30-year-old Turkish international spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. He also proclaimed that he “bleeds Nerazzurri.”

This season, Inter won the Serie A title.

That title triumph caps off a three-year period in which Calhanoglu has won a total of six trophies with the club.

Meanwhile, Inter also reached the Champions League final last season.

There, the Nerazzurri managed to go toe-to-toe with Premier League giants Manchester City. However, they lost in heartbreaking circumstances, by a 1-0 scoreline.

Hakan Calhanoglu: Inter “Want To Write As Much History As Possible”

Inter have already achieved a lot in the past few years.

But that is no reason for the team to rest on their laurels.

Next season, there is little doubt that Inter will go into it as favourites to win the Serie A title. This would be the first time that a team has successfully defended the title since the Nerazzurri broke Juventus’s streak of title wins.

Then, there will be a real hunger to do better in the cup competitions.

This season, round of sixteen exits from the Champions League and the Coppa Italia constituted the only major disappointment for the Nerazzurri.

Inter midfielder Calhanoglu said that “Our goal is to write as much history as possible with this brilliant club.”

“And I believe that we’ve started by winning this second star,” he continued.

“We hope that we can keep going like this.”

Calhanoglu also made clear that “I’ve been in Milan for seven years. But I bleed Nerazzurri.”

The Turkish international had played for the Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan for seven years before joining in the summer of 2021.

“From my first year here, everyone’s helped me a lot,” Calhanoglu said.

“My teammates first of all. And then certainly the fans, who’ve helped me to raise my level.”
