Wingback Tajon Buchanan is set to make his full debut for Inter Milan in their final match of the Serie A season against Hellas Verona.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, anticipate that the 25-year-old will start on the left in Sunday’s match.

Buchanan joined Inter from Club Brugge during the January transfer window.

However, the Canadian international has yet to make a start for the club.

This is hardly uncommon for players who have joined the Nerazzurri in Buchanan’s position.

The wingback roll in Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system is one with particular tactical demands, and it is not necessarily one which exists in most other teams’ formations.

Therefore, there is often a period of adjustment for new arrivals at wingback. That was the case for Denzel Dumfries when the Dutchman joined from PSV in 2021 for example.

Tajon Buchanan To Make First Start For Inter Milan Vs Hellas Verona

Buchanan has, however, made numerous substitute appearances for Inter.

Among these was in a Serie A match away to Frosinone earlier this month. That match saw the Canadian bag his first goal for Inter.

And according to the Corriere, the wait is over for Buchanan to make a start in an Inter shirt.

The newspaper anticipates that the former Club Brugge man will start on the left of Inter’s formation.

That is the position in which Buchanan has exclusively featured for Inter this season.

This in spite of the fact that the Nerazzurri had seemingly signed the Canadian as cover at right-wingback after Juan Cuadrado underwent surgery in December.

Meanwhile, the Corriere predicts, Denzel Dumfries will start on the right flank for Inter.

The newspaper’s complete predicted Inter starting eleven for Sunday’s match is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Audero; Bisseck, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Frattesi, Asllani, Barella, Buchanan; Arnautovic, Lautaro.
