Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has been offered to Inter Milan.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet report that the former Leeds United keeper is likely to depart from his current club after losing his starting place, and would cost very little.

At the moment, Inter’s goalkeeping situation is in flux for next season.

On the one hand, Yann Sommer is virtually certain to stay. The former Bayern Munich veteran was the first-choice keeper for the season just gone, performing is role very well.

And in terms of the third-choice role, FCIN anticipate that there is little doubt that Inter will extend the Raffaele Di Gennaro.

The 30-year-old made his first every appearance for Inter off the bench on the final day of the season against Hellas Verona.

Di Gennaro produced a couple of fine stops in the second half of that match.

And the third-choice keeper has been a positive presence in training and in the dressing room all season long.

However, it is the question of who the second-choice keeper well be next season that looks to really be salient.

FCIN report that Inter have no intention of signing Emil Audero on a permanent basis with the 27-year-old’s loan from Sampdoria expiring.

Rather, Audero looks to be inching towards a move to newly-promoted Como.

So the question now is who Inter will decide to sign as the backup to Sommer for next season.

Udinese Keeper Marco Silvestri Offered To Inter Milan

FCIN confirm that Inter’s top target in goal is Athletico Paranaense keeper Bento.

The 24-year-old is a player who the Nerazzurri see as an ideal fit. They want him to back up Sommer next season – and then succeed the Swiss international in the longer term.

However, Bento is not the only option.

FCIN note that Filip Stankovic will be back at Inter this summer after his loan to Sampdoria over the season just gone.

And the outlet anticipate that he will be part of the Nerazzurri’s squad in preseason.

As with last summer, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will want the chance to observe Stankovic in preseason.

And FCIN anticipate that it is not impossible that Stankovic could take on the role of backup to Sommer next season.

Meanwhile, there is also the possibility of Inter exploiting a different opportunity in the transfer market.

One has already presented itself, the outlet report.

Former Leeds and Hellas Verona keeper Silvestri has been at Udinese since the summer of 2021.

However, after being the clear first-choice keeper in his first two campaigns with the Friulani, Silvestri has lost his place.

Maduka Okoye has become Udinese’s first-choice keeper.

Therefore, Silvestri is ready to find a different club. And FCIN report that the 33-year-old’s representatives sounded out Inter as a possibility.

Naturally, Silvestri would only be a backup keeper for the Nerazzurri.

However, the veteran’s shot-stopping ability and Serie A experience could make him an option.

Silvestri is out of contract with Udinese at the end of next June. Therefore, the Friulani would be willing to sell him for a low fee.
