Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels he’s enjoying the best moment of his playing career thus far, while doting on his great rapport with the club’s supporters.

The 26-year-old joined the club last summer, completing a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Following Romelu Lukaku’s unexpected departure, Simone Inzaghi gave the Frenchman an immediate starting berth, and the latter managed to make the most out of the opportunity.

Thuram forged a great understanding with Lautaro Martinez and played a key role in the club’s Serie A triumph.

Therefore, he feels he has finally made a name for himself, stepping out of his father’s looming shadow.

“In the past, people used to know me as the son of Lilian Thuram. But today, I am above all Marcus Thuram,” said the Nerazzurri striker in his interview with Le Monde via FcInterNews.

“That is without taking anything away from my father who has 142 caps for the national team.”

The striker then discussed his great relationship with the San Siro crowd.

“The Nerazzurri fans quickly adopted me. Hearing your name chanted by 75 thousand fans is intoxicating, and when you love what you do, and have a passion as great as mine, you can’t help but cherish it.”
