Oaktree Capital have reportedly identified the Inter Milan new stadium project as a priority for the club’s future.

The American investment company took over the Nerazzurri last week when departing owners Suning failed to repay their debts by the deadline.

The new owners are now looking to bolster the club’s status. This in order to maximize its value ahead of an eventual sale.

Oaktree officials are already at work as they look to explore new possibilities to boost the club’s revenues.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the new owners have placed the stadium on top of the bucket list.

Oaktree believes a new stadium is fundamental for Inter’s long-term future, as it would boost the club’s finances.

In this regard, the source reveals that the company is open to the two solutions that have been on the table for quite some time.

Inter Milan New Stadium A Priority For Oaktree Capital

The first would be to build their own stadium in the Rozzano region on the outskirts of Milano. The Nerazzurri have already acquired a first-refusal option on a land in the region.

The source thus expects Oaktree officials to meet with the authorities involved to hear from them about critical issues facing the project.

The other solution would be renovating the San Siro stadium alongside AC Milan.

While local authorities prevented the two clubs from demolishing the current stadium, Milano mayor Giuseppe Sala is still eager to keep the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri inside the city walls.

Therefore, he came up with a plan to renovate the current Giuseppe Meazza ground.

The two clubs are currently awaiting WeBuild to present them with a detailed project before rendering their final decision on the matter.
