Inter Milan are set to hold the decisive meeting with coach Simone Inzaghi to extend his contract with the club on Thursday.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet anticipate that it will just be a couple more days before the Nerazzurri seal a new deal for the 48-year-old.

There is no doubt that Inter want to keep their current coach in place for the foreseeable future.

While there have been ups and downs during the former Lazio boss’s tenure on the bench, the trajectory has certainly been upwards. Inter won the Serie A title during the season just gone.

At the moment, Inzaghi’s contract with Inter runs until the end of next June.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri will aim to extend the 48-year-old’s deal.

And despite it normally being the policy of Inter CEO Beppe Marotta to only hand one-year bumper deals to coaches, the club are ready to offer Inzaghi a two-year extension.

The Nerazzurri are willing to extend Inzaghi’s deal until the end of June 2027.

And for his part, Inzaghi is not thinking about anything besides staying at Inter. The coach feels that his work at the club is far from over.

Thursday The Day For Decisive Contract Talks Between Inter Milan & Simone Inzaghi

Now everything is all in place for Inter to get things over the line as far as a new deal for Inzaghi.

There have already been talks with the 48-year-old’s agent.

But there are still some final details left for Inter to wrap up.

The decisive meeting has not happened in the last couple of weeks.

This is due to the fact that Inter have been undergoing a transition in ownership, from Suning to Oaktree Capital.

But today, Oaktree named a new board of directors at the club.

Therefore, Inter can get moving on key matters like a new deal for Inzaghi.

And FCIN anticipate that the likely date for the meeting where the club and coach wrap up negotiations once and for all will be Tuesday of this week.
