Austria have moved on to the round of sixteen of the competition.

Moreover, they have done so as group winners.

Having lost their opener against France, Austria recovered to beat both Poland and the Netherlands in fairly convincing fashion.

Therefore, Ralf Rangnick’s team head into the round of sixteen with momentum on their side.

Inter striker Arnautovic started against both Poland and the Netherlands.

The former West Ham United and Bologna striker found the back of the net against Poland.

And Arnautovic showed his strength and holdup play leading the line against the Netherlands yesterday. He had a good battle with Inter teammate Stefan de Vrij.

Veteran striker Arnautovic called reaching the knockouts “An incredible feeling.”

“Now, we can be happy about it for a moment. But then, the preparations for the round of sixteen begin.”

“Nobody would have believed that we could have moved on the way we have.”

“People didn’t rate us to play like this. But I always rate this team as a top side.”

As far as Austria’s chances going forward, Arnautovic said that “Anything can happen in the knockouts.”

“You just have to win. This tournament has just begun.”

As far as celebrating, Arnautovic said that “I don’t know what the guys are doing.”

“But I’m already 35 years old,” the Inter striker said. “I need to slow down, see if I can recover.”

“So that we can bring the same quality to the next match.”
