Inter Milan have reportedly booked a medical for Josep Martinez who is on the verge of completing his transfer from Genoa.

The Nerazzurri have identified the Spaniard as the right profile to bolster their goalkeeping department.

The Italian champions have opted against maintaining the services of Emil Audero who spent his campaign on loan at San Siro. The Italian will thus return to his parent club Sampdoria.

While many sources expected Inter to sign Brazil international Neto, they couldn’t forge an agreement with his club Athletico Paranaense.

Therefore, the Serie A giants turned their attention to Martinez who enjoyed an impressive campaign in Genoa. This was the Catalan’s first season in Serie A after making his move from RB Leipzig permanent last summer.

Inter have an agreement in place with Genoa over a permanent transfer. The Nerazzurri will splash 13.5 million euros as a transfer fee, in addition to 2M in bonuses.

According to FcInter1908, Martinez will undergo his medical tests on Tuesday before signing his contract with Inter.
