A report in the Spanish press reveals how Real Betis starlet Alex Perez pressured his club to accelerate his imminent transfer to Inter Milan.

The 18-year-old is one of the most promising youngsters in the Andalusian club’s youth sector.

But with his contract expiring in a year, the Nerazzurri pounced on the opportunity to secure his services.

As we reported earlier today, the teenager is now one step away from completing a move to Appiano Gentile.

According to Estadio Deportivo via FcInterNews, Perez himself pushed to put the deal over the line.

As the source explains, the teenager was eager to join the Nerazzurri this summer. Thus he refused to sign a contract extension, even if it meant seeing out his deal while sitting in the stands for an entire campaign.

Therefore, the La Liga side eventually granted him his request, agreeing a transfer with the Nerazzurri.

Perez rose through the ranks of Rayo Vallecano before making the switch to Betis in the summer of 2024. Last January, he earned a promotion to the club’s B team, Betis Deportivo.

How Alex Perez Pushed For His Move From Real Betis To Inter Milan

The source expects the Spaniard to complete an initial loan move with an option to buy.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly planning to add the defender to their Primavera squad next season.

Inter promised Perez they’d promote him to the senior squad in the following summer if he manages to impress in his maiden campaign in Italian football.

But if the club doesn’t deem him ready for the first team, they’ll send him out on loan in order to garner experience at the senior level.
