The Technical Director of Venezia says that Inter Milan have made contact regarding Tanner Tessmann, but are not negotiating to sign him.

Venezia Technical Director Cristiano Molinaro spoke to reporters at the opening of the transfer window ceremony in Rimini, via FCInterNews.

Tessmann is a player who has come onto Inter’s radar for the future.

The 22-year-old US international is reportedly a player the Nerazzurri want to sign this summer. But they would not bring him straight into the first team.

Rather, Inter’s intention would reportedly be to send Tessmann back to Venezia on loan for next season.

That way, the American could get regular playing time in Serie A for another season, rather than largely being a depth option in their own squad.

Venezia Technical Director Molinaro: Inter In “Contact” For Tanner Tessmann – But No Negotiations

There is no doubt that Tessmann’s form for Venezia last season has attracted suitors.

The question now is whether or not any club will complete a deal to sign the American.

“There have been some initial chats about him,” said Venezia Technical Director Molinaro.

“But for now, Tess is just focused on the Olympics. And for us, we’re just focused on next season.”

“He’s grown to an incredible extent,” Molinaro said of Tessmann.

“Maybe he’s a bit shy. But he’s shown that he has great value, and that’s attracted a lot of interest.”

“We’ll make all the assessments we have to with our Sporting Director Riccardo Antonelli.”

As far as Inter’s interest in Tessmann, Molinaro said that “There have been contacts, yes.”

“But no negotiations,” he made clear.

“Tessmann is a true athlete,” the Venezia Technical Director added. “He comes from an American football background, and he’s a player with great physicality.”

“He’ll certainly have a great career,” Molinaro then said of Tessmann.
