Venezia midfielder Tanner Tessman is reportedly very close to completing a transfer to Inter Milan, with Gaetano Oristanio heading in the opposite direction.

The Lagunari’s sporting director Filippo Antonelli was at the Nerazzurri’s headquarters yesterday for a meeting with his Inter counterparts.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the two clubs were able to find an agreement in principle over Tessman.

The 22-year-old is now one step away from signing for the Italian champions.

The USMNT star has been plying his trade at Venezia since 2021. Last season, he took his game up a notch and played a vital role in the club’s promotion to the Italian top flight.

But with his contract expiring next summer, the Venetians are desperate to sell him. After all, they wouldn’t want to lose his services for free next year.

Nevertheless, the pink newspaper notes an issue related to Inter’s plans for next season.

Simone Inzaghi already possesses a packed midfield department, especially with Piotr Zielinski on the cusp of joining the ranks.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri management is looking to send Tessman on loan next season. This would allow him to earn valuable experience and buys the club time to make room for his return in 2025.

Inter Milan Close To Signing Tanner Tessman With Gaetano Oristanio Moving To Venezia

Nevertheless, the American doesn’t fancy staying at Venezia for another year.

Hence, the parties are now seeking a solution for this particular knot. They are thus evaluating alternative possibilities.

As for Oristanio, he is making the opposite move from Inter to Venezia, but on a separate deal.

The 21-year-old is a Nerazzurri youth product who spent the previous campaign on loan at Cagliari.

However, the source remains uncertain whether or not Inter will retain a buy-back option for the attacking midfielder.
