Inter Milan have made an increased offer to Real Betis to sign teenage defender Alex Perez.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that the Nerazzurri have upped their bid to a 3 million purchase option, and expect a response soon.

Inter have been working to try and sign Perez for a few weeks now.

The Spaniard is only eighteen years of age, and has yet to make a senior appearance for Betis.

However, Inter have marked Perez out as a player for the future.

The Nerazzurri’s plan would be to have Perez play for their Primavera or Under-19 side initially. Then, there would be a pathway into the first team over the coming few years.

Naturally, time would be on Perez’s side in this sense.

Inter’s plan has been to sign Perez on an initial season-long loan deal, effectively trialling him in their youth team setup. Then there would be a purchase option to make the loan deal permanent.

Inter Milan Increase Offer To Real Betis For Alex Perez

So far, Betis have rejected Inter’s offers. They expect a higher fee on a deal for Perez.

But according to the Gazzetta, Inter have put in a new bid for the 18-year-old.

The newspaper report that the Nerazzurri are now offering a season-long loan deal for Perez, which would contain the option to sign him on a permanent basis for a fee of 3 million.

Inter are optimistic that Betis will accept this latest offer.

And the Spanish club’s response should not be too far away.

The Gazzetta report that Inter expect the response from Betis to their offer within the next day or two.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that they can get moving on Perez’s medicals in the next week or so.
