Defender Yann Bisseck has been one of the real bright spots for Inter Milan in preseason.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the 23-year-old’s performances on a tactical level in particular.
Bisseck has been an Inter player for twelve months now.
The German has had a full year to fit into the team after making a huge step up from Danish side Aarhus.
And Bisseck certainly looks like a player who’s eyeing up an auspicious start to next season.
Yann Bisseck Impressing With Performances For Inter Milan In Preseason
Bisseck has been one of the Inter players who has been part of preseason training right from the start this summer.
The German has taken full advantage of this preparation.
Bisseck has been a pillar of the Inter team in their preseason friendly matches.
Yesterday, the 23-year-old was in the starting eleven for a friendly against Pisa. And he certainly made an impact in that match.
Bisseck scored Inter’s equalizing goal late on in the match.
But really, that was only a small part of what the defender contributed.
As the Corriere note, Bisseck looked more like a perfect tactical fit to his role on the right side of the Inter back three than ever.
Last season, that was the position that the German played.
Bisseck became the main backup option for Benjamin Pavard on the right of the Nerazzurri defense.
The Corriere praise Bisseck for his positioning and defensive instincts in the role, in yesterday’s match and throughout Inter’s preseason as a whole.
The German has a tough job defending the wide areas. He often needs to cover a fair bit of space and rely on both pace and anticipation to not get beaten.
But that is exactly what Bisseck was able to do throughout yesterday’s friendly match against Pisa.
