Inter Milan could decide to sign Valencia defender Yarek Gasiorowski this summer due to good relations with his agent.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that agent Sergio Barila also represents new Nerazzurri goalkeeper Josep Martinez.

Inter’s search for a defender is still ongoing.

The Nerazzurri had looked to be on the verge of completing a deal for defender Juan Cabal. However, Juventus hijacked that deal, signing the Colombian.

That left Inter back at square one, and they have been in search of a defender ever since.

The likes of Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan and Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior are reportedly among the Nerazzurri’s targets.

Links have also emerged to Dinamo Zagreb defender Mauro Perkovic.

Inter owners Oaktree Capital reportedly want to invest in a younger defender. They want to sign a player with big margins for growth and resale value.

In any event, the profile that Inter are seeking is a player capable of backing up Alessandro Bastoni on the left of the defense.

Inter Milan Could Sign Valencia Defender Yarek Gasiorowski Due To Relationship With Agent

And according to the Corriere dello Sport, Valencia’s Gasiorowski is very much a name on the Nerazzurri’s list as well.

At nineteen years of age, Gasiorowski has experience playing both at full-back and centre-back.

Inter feel that the Spanish Under-19 international has the right profile to play on the left of a back three.

And given Gasiorowski’s age, he would certainly represent a prospective investment in the future rather than a stopgap solution, as Oaktree want.

And as the Corriere note, there is one factor that could push Gasiorowski ahead of the other candidates on Inter’s shortlist.

The 19-year-old is represented by agent Sergio Barila.

The agent facilitated the smooth negotiations for Inter to sign goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Genoa last month. Therefore, this could help Inter work out a deal for Gasiorowski.
