Inter Milan are planning a major transfer summit between coach Simone Inzaghi and the club’s directors this week.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that two more signings are possible as the Nerazzurri stare down the final weeks of the transfer window.
There are now less than two weeks to go before the Serie A season begins.
And in the summer transfer window, there is less than a month left.
Inter have already done some major business this summer. Mehdi Taremi, Piotr Zielinski, and Josep Martinez all arrived last month – the former two on free transfers set up months in advance.
And Inter are not likely to anything too drastic in the next few weeks.
The priority has always been to keep last season’s team together. Inter have accomplished that, and strengthened the depth with players like Taremi and Zielinski.
Nevertheless, there will likely be one or two more new arrivals before the transfer window slams shut.
Inter Milan Transfer Summit Planned For This Week – Two New Signings Possible
In the next few days, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will sit down with President and CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio.
The men will work out how to approach the end of the transfer window.
One key priority remains signing a defender to bolster the back three.
That defender will not be Ricardo Rodriguez. The Swiss international is on his way to Real Betis.
However, there are still a number of possible targets as a backup to Alessandro Bastoni.
Meanwhile, in attack Inzaghi still wants another signing.
But everything will likely hinge on the future of Marko Arnautovic.
If the Austrian wants to stay then Inter will not sign another striker.
But on the other hand, if Arnautovic sees the writing on the wall as far as his reduced playing time and decides to leave, then the Nerazzurri will move for a replacement.
