Inter Milan and Venezia are working out the final details of a loan deal for goalkeeper Filip Stankovic.

This according to Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews. He reports that the deal will be loan containing a purchase option in favour of the Lagunari and a sell-on fee.

Now everything is nearly ready to go as far as Stankovic’s move to his next club.

The Serbian youth team international spent last season on loan with Sampdoria in Serie B.

That followed two seasons on loan in the Netherlands with Volendam.

Stankovic helped that club win promotion from the Dutch second division to the Eredivisie in his first season there, the 2021-22 campaign. And in his second he helped keep them in the top flight.

Last time around, Sampdoria had aimed for a promotion to Serie A.

However, the Blucerchiati failed to achieve that objective. They reached the promotion playoffs but lost to Venezia.

Therefore, the conditional purchase obligation to sign Stankovic on a permanent basis was not triggered.

That has meant that Stankovic has been back at Inter this summer. The Nerazzurri have been looking for a new club for the 23-year-old.

Inter & Venezia Working Out Final Details Of Filip Stankovic Deal

There were a few clubs to show an interest in signing Stankovic this summer.

These included Sampdoria. The Ligurian club considered trying to bring the Serb back even though they had not signed him permanently this summer.

However, it is Venezia – the club who beat Sampdoria to promotion – who have won the race for Stankovic’s signature.

The Lagunari are looking to bolster their squad for their fist season in Serie A since the 2021-22 campaign.

Venezia have already signed one Inter player in the former of attacking midfielder Gatenao Oristanio.

Oristanio was in fact a teammate of Stankovic’s for two seasons at Volendam. And the pair will be reunited at Venezia this season.

According to Di Marzio, the clubs are close to a complete agreement on the deal.

Stankovic will join Venezia on an initial loan deal. Then, the Venetian club will have the option to sign the Serb on a permanent basis at the end of his loan deal.

Inter and Venezia are working out the final terms of the loan deal, and then Stankovic can complete the move.

Moreover, Di Marzio reports, if Venezia are to sign Stankovic permanently then Inter will receive a percentage of resale.

He reports that the Nerazzurri would receive 50% of a future transfer fee for the goalkeeper.
