Inter Milan target Albert Gudmundsson is training on his own as Genoa and Fiorentina are unable to agree a transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Genoa-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX, via FCInterNews.

Gudmundsson’s future remains very much up in the air in the final weeks of the transfer window.

The Icelandic international has no shortage of transfer interest.

Inter have been one of Gudmundsson’s main suitors. The Nerazzurri have been pursuing the 26-year-old for months now, and reportedly have an agreement in hand with the player.

But in the last week or so it has been Fiorentina who have really made their move.

La Viola have identified Gudmundsson as a replacement for Nico Gonzalez. The Argentine looks to be on the way to Juventus, although that transfer is not yet over the line.

But with each day that passes, the deals for Gudmundsson and Gonzalez seem to be in more jeopardy.

Inter Target Gudmundsson Trains Separately Amid Fiorentina Genoa Standoff

According to Il Secolo XIX, Genoa have made their stance clear. They will not sell Gudmundsson until they sign a replacement.

And that is also Fiorentina’s stance regarding Gonzalez.

The Tuscans would be willing to sell the former Stuttgart winger to Juventus. But first they want to wrap up a deal for Gudmundsson.

So at the moment, the situation is a tense one. There are dominoes, but they have yet to fall.

And in the meantime, Inter continue to lurk in the background with interest.

The Nerazzurri know that stalling between Fiorentina and Gudmundsson could be their advantage. They will wait to see if the Icelandic international is still available in the final days of the transfer window.

Reports indicate that Inter could offer former Bologna striker Marko Aranutovic to Genoa as part of a deal for Gudmundsson.
