Italian striker Andrea Pinamonti is reportedly facing a race against time as he looks to complete his move to Genoa and make himself available against his old employers Inter Milan.

The 25-year-old is a youth product of the Nerazzurri who else spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Genoa.

The Grifone even activated their option to buy the attacker in September 2020, only for Inter to utilize their buy-back clause a few weeks later.

The striker then spent the following campaign as a backup for Romelu Lukaku and won the Serie A title under the guidance of Antonio Conte.

The Italian managed to impress during a loan stint at Empoli, earning himself a move to Sassuolo in 2022.

Pinamonti’s time at the Mapei Stadium had more lows than highs. It culminated in a shocking relegation at the end of last season.

But luckily for the Inter academy product, he won’t have to play his football in Serie B this season. This is thanks to Genoa who have offered him an escape rope.

The centre-forward is now on the verge of finalizing his return to the Rossoblu.

But according to Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews, Pinamonti is now racing against time ahead of the Serie A opener.

Genoa Hoping To Have Andrea Pinamonti Ready For Inter Milan Clash

The Grifone are aiming to finish up all necessary procedures and put the player’s signature on paper as soon as possible.

That’s because Alberto Gilardino would want to have his new striker at his disposal for the clash against Inter.

The Ligurians will host the defending Italian champions at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium on Saturday evening.

Pinamonti’s transfer to Genoa will trigger two high-profile transfers within Italian football.

Inter Milan target Albert Gudmundsson will sign for Fiorentina. The Icelandic’s arrival in Florence should free Nico Gonzalez, who may complete a move to Juventus.
