Inter Milan wingback is hoping to make his return to action in next month’s Serie A clash with Roma.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the Canadian is getting back to fitness methodically and that a return is in sight for him.
Buchanan has been out for the start of the Serie A season with Inter.
The 25-year-old suffered a very serious injury during the summer. He broke his leg in training while with the Canadian national team at the Copa America.
This of course caused Buchanan to miss most of that tournament with his national team.
And the recovery period has lasted several months for the former Club Brugge wingback.
It always looked clear that Buchanan would miss at least two or three months of the season with Inter.
Tajon Buchanan Targeting Return In Roma Vs Inter Serie A Clash
Soon after Buchanan broke his leg, there were reports that he could be out of action for the rest of 2024.
Naturally, there was worry that with an injury as serious as the one Buchanan had suffered, and the subsequent surgery, a recovery would be a very lengthy process.
But the 25-year-old has been working diligently. And considering the circumstances, his recovery has been a fairly speedy one thus far.
Buchanan’s leg has largely healed. He is now working to start regaining fitness.
Buchanan still has not made a return to training with his teammates.
That will still be a few weeks away, as the Canadian rebuilds his strength.
But the Corriere anticipate that Buchanan will look to be back in training next month.
Therefore, there is a potential date to circle on the calendar.
Inter face Roma on October 20th. And the Corriere report that that is a plausible return date for Buchanan.
