Inter Milan boast the second-highest attendance in Europe according to a new study by La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInter1908.
As the pink newspaper explains, Serie A has overtaken La Liga in terms of average fan attendance.
The Italian top flight is now fourth. It landed only behind the Premier League, the English Championship (second division in England) and the Bundesliga.
Moreover, Inter, AC Milan and AS Roma are among the Top seven clubs in terms of attendance in the Old Continent.
Despite all their struggles on the field, Manchester United remain on top of the mountain. Almost 1.4 million fans came to support the Red Devils at Old Trafford throughout the season.
Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri faithful weren’t too far behind, with 1.383 million flocking to San Siro.
AC Milan are fifth on the list with 1.3 million supporters showing their support at the same stadium.
Meanwhile, 1.2 million fans attended Roma matches at the Stadio Olimpico, placing the club in seventh place on the list.
Inter Milan Have Second Largest Attendance In Europe After Man United
The ever-growing support of the Nerazzurri faithful is a combination between the fanbase’s attachment to the club and the team’s improving results on the pitch.
Inter fell on hard times following the end of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning era. Nevertheless, Beppe Marotta’s arrival in 2018 sparked a great revival.
Since then, the club has won two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia trophies, three Italian Super Cups and reached the final of the Champions League.
After earning their second golden star last season, the Nerazzurri are now hoping to kickstart a winning dynasty.
