But before mathematically securing the title, Inter had to go through several hurdles on the way, and they managed to surpass them all.
Martinez thus remembers three key moments that paved the way torwads the great triumph. He begins with the decisive Derby della Madonnina victory on April 22nd.
“I’ll make it a podium. First, let’s begin in the pre-match of the Derby.” said the club captain in his interview with Radio 105 via FcInterNews.
“When we returned to the locker room, it was at that moment that I told myself ‘It ends tonight’.”

The Argentine then moved back in time to the victory over Juventus on February 4th. The Bianconeri had closed the gap on Inter at the time, but utterly collapsed following their Derby d’Italia defeat.
“The victory against Juventus was fundamental, so it’s second on the list.”
Martinez completes his podium with the hard-fought victory over Fiorentina away from home in January.
“Then I remember Florence. We returned from Riyadh after the victory in the Super Cup, on a difficult pitch, and we were second in the standings.
“Coming back from a long journey was perhaps a reason for tiredness and relaxation, but we didn’t do that.
“Instead, we took to the field in the right mentality,” concluded the World Cup winner.
