Federico Dimarco is favourite over Carlos Augusto to start for Inter Milan in tomorrow’s derby clash with AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that Augusto will likely drop out of the lineup after two consecutive starts.

One of Inter coach Inzaghi’s major selection doubts for tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Milan will be on the left flank.

There is still some uncertainty on the right. Denzel Dumfries could make his first start of the season, but Inzaghi hasn’t ruled out keeping Matteo Darmian in the team.

But on the left in particular, the Nerazzurri coach has a few things to consider.

Naturally, Inzaghi will want Dimarco in the team for such an important match.

The Italian international is a vital creative influence for the Nerazzurri’s style of play.

However, Dimarco is just coming back from an injury. The 26-year-old missed out on Inter’s Champions League opener against Manchester City during the week.

But now Dimarco is back in training and should be ready to play tomorrow.

Federico Dimarco Favourite Over Carlos Augusto To Start For Inter Vs AC Milan

With Dimarco having recovered from his muscle problem and returned to training, Inzaghi feels that the Italian is ready to play tomorrow.

On the other hand, Carlos Augusto will likely get a break.

The Brazilian international has started both of Inter’s matches back from the international break.

Augusto showed his versatility against Monza last weekend. He started the match in defense, but moved to wingback for the closing stages, providing the assist for Inter’s equalizer.

Then, with Dimarco out, Augusto started against City on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old former Monza wingback saw out the full ninety minutes of both matches.

Therefore, Inzaghi is ready to give the nod to Dimarco for tomorrow’s derby.
