Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez will start in attack for Inter Milan against Udinese this evening.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that striker Mehdi Taremi will get his chance in the Champions League.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have a bit of a balancing act in attack over the next couple matches.
The Nerazzurri have three games in the space of a week on the way.
This evening, Inter take on Udinese in Serie A. Then on Tuesday they face Red Star Belgrade in their second Champions League match of the season.
And next weekend, Inter host Torino in the league before the start of the October international break.
Inter have had a week to rest and train after the derby against AC Milan last weekend.
But now the matches will once again be coming thick and fast.
Thuram & Lautaro To Start For Inter Vs Udinese – Taremi To Start Vs Red Star
With the team having had a few days to catch their breath after the derby, all of the strikers are fit and available.
And according to the Gazzetta, Inter coach Inzaghi will put his faith in captain Martinez as well as French international Thuram to lead the line against Udinese this evening.
Martinez has started the season in woeful form. A lack of fitness has played a big role as he has yet to score a goal for Inter.
And Thuram, meanwhile, got the season off to a blazing start. However, the Frenchman has not scored or assisted a goal since the return from the September international break.
But Inzaghi will give both of the pair the nod this evening.
In Martinez’s case, the Nerazzurri coach believes that it is only a matter of time before he snaps his goal drought. Then, the captain could return to his prolific best.
Then, in midweek, the Gazzetta report that Iranian international striker Mehdi Taremi will take the place of one of Thuram or Martinez in Inter’s starting eleven against Red Star.
