Striker Marko Arnautovic is set to start for Inter Milan in tomorrow evening’s Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Austrian will lead the line alongside Mehdi Taremi, and Piotr Zielinski will start in midfield.
Former West Ham United and Stoke City striker Arnautovic has yet to start for Inter this season.
The 35-year-old has made a couple of appearances off the bench.
However, he has yet to get the nod from the first minute.
It always seemed likely that Arnautovic would see his playing time reduced. The arrival of striker Taremi from Porto has increased the competition in attack.
Moreover, Joaquin Correa also stayed at Inter somewhat surprisingly. And he has also made a couple of appearances.
Nevertheless, Arnautovic continues to be an option for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
The coach has always made his trust in the Austrian international clear.
Marko Arnautovic To Start For Inter Milan Vs Red Star Belgrade
According to Sky, Arnautovic will get his chance in tomorrow’s second Champions League match of the season for Inter.
The Nerazzurri host Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade tomorrow evening.
Inter coach Inzaghi is ready to make several changes to the team. That is perhaps not too surprising considering that Inter played just a couple days ago, against Udinese in Serie A.
In attack, Inzaghi will completely change things up.
Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram started in attack against Udinese. But tomorrow, Sky reports, it will be Arnautovic and Taremi who lead the line.
Meanwhile, in midfield Sky report that former Napoli midfielder Zielinski will replace Davide Frattesi.
The Pole will start alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu.
It will also be a complete change-up on the flanks, according to Sky. Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Augusto will start in place of Italian international duo Matteo Darmian and Federico Dimarco.
And in defense, Sky anticipate that Benjamin Pavard and Stefan de Vrij will come in for Yann Bisseck and Francesco Acerbi. Alessandro Bastoni will keep his place.
In goal, it will be the usual suspect. Former Bayern Munich veteran Yann Sommer will continue his run of starting every one of Inter’s matches so far this season.
