Overachieving Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi has drawn inquiries from Manchester United, but he’s unlikely to leave Giuseppe Meazza anytime soon.
According to Corriere dello Sport, as reported by FCInter1908, the Red Devils harbor a genuine interest in the ex-Lazio tactician, but he won’t depart Lombardy.
Inzaghi has worked wonders at Inter since swapping the Stadio Olimpico for Meazza in 2021.
Replacing Antonio Conte was supposed to be a tall order, yet the 48-year-old has passed the test with flying colors.
After back-to-back Coppa Italia titles in his first two seasons in charge, Simone Inzaghi guided the Nerazzurri to their landmark 20th Scudetto last year.
However, it wasn’t only about lifting the title.
Inzaghi’s side made light work of Serie A, with only the relegated Sassuolo beating Inter last season.
The reigning champions dominated the league in every aspect.
In addition to boasting the best scoring record of 89 goals, they conceded a league-low 22.
Such remarkable performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
Manchester United Identify Simone Inzaghi As Genuine Target but His Future Is at Inter Milan
While Inter excelled under Inzaghi, Manchester United’s epic downfall since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure shows no signs of stopping.
Old Trafford fans want Erik ten Hag’s head on a spike after Tottenham Hotspur inflicted another devastating defeat on United.
It’s been over a decade since the Red Devils last won the Premier League title, and supporters’ patience has grown thin.
Ten Hag must tread carefully in the coming weeks, but his dismissal looks inevitable.
Subsequently, Manchester United would ideally appoint Inzaghi as the Dutchman’s successor.
However, the Italian coach’s contract at Meazza runs out in 2026.
Given his recent results, Inzaghi is in no rush to end his three-year association with the club.
Despite links with other top foreign clubs, the highly-rated manager has pledged his future to Inter.
