Roma forwards Paulo Dybala and Artem Dovbyk will both be fit and available for Sunday’s Serie A clash with Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that both of the pair are training normally.
Roma coach Ivan Juric has had one or two reasons to worry about the fitness of key players ahead of his team’s return to Serie A action from the international break.
Winger Stephan El Shaarawy will be out for a few weeks. There’s no doubt about that after the Italian international suffered a calf strain.
But the real doubts have concerned Paulo Dybala and Artem Dovbyk.
Both of the pair have been dealing with muscular knocks.
Roma Duo Paulo Dybala & Artem Dovbyk Fit For Inter Showdown
In the case of Dybala, the Argentine missed a few matches prior to the international break.
The former Juventus player was out of action due to a muscle injury.
This has been an unfortunate theme across Dybala’s time at both Roma and Juventus.
Dybala is not a player who has dealt with any truly bad injuries. However, the minor muscular problems have piled up and caused him to miss sequences of a few matches here and there.
Dybala used the international break as an opportunity to work his way back to fitness.
And there’s not been any doubt that the 30-year-old would be back soon.
But the question concerned whether or not Dybala would be ready for Roma’s first match back from the break against Inter.
Naturally, Giallorossi coach Juric will hardly want to take risks with Dybala’s fitness.
But according to the Gazzetta, the signs in training are very positive. Dybala should certainly be ready for Sunday’s match.
The same is also true of striker Dovbyk.
The 27-year-old suffered a bit of a muscle problem while with Ukraine during the break. But he appears to be all ready to play against Inter as well.
