Piotr Zielinski is looking more and more likely to start in holding midfielder for Inter Milan in tomorrow’s Serie A match against Juventus.
Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, also report that Denzel Dumfries is the favourite to start on the right flank. However, Kristjan Asllani and Matteo Darmian are still in contention.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has 24 hours or so to think about the starting eleven he will name tomorrow.
The Nerazzurri take on Juventus in a massive Serie A match. And the Nerazzurri coach will be determined to name a strong lineup.
There are some injuries for Inzaghi to contend with. Among these are Hakan Calhanoglu, Francesco Acerbi, and Carlos Augusto.
Meanwhile, Tajon Buchanan could get his first call-up of the season after coming back from a long injury.
Inzaghi is thinking about how to work around these issues.
Piotr Zielinski Looking More & More Likely To Start For Inter Vs Juventus
According to Sky, there are two many doubts in Inzaghi’s mind.
The first concerns the holding midfield position. Calhanoglu is normally the clear first-choice option there, but the Turk will not be available.
Therefore, Inzaghi has three options.
In Inter’s last couple of matches, Nicolo Barella has moved to the regista position. Therefore, Davide Frattesi has played on the right of midfield.
But that does not look to be likely tomorrow.
Meanwhile, there are two other possible options to fill in for Calhanoglu tomorrow.
One would be Kristjan Asllani. The former Empoli midfielder is Calhanoglu’s main backup in the squad.
And Inzaghi said in a press conference today that if he feels that Asllani has the fitness to start tomorrow then he will.
But that has remained a doubt. Asllani is just coming back from injury.
Therefore, Sky report, Inzaghi is increasingly leaning towards Zielinski.
The Polish international has experience playing in holding midfield for his national team. And Inzaghi is leaning towards giving him the nod tomorrow, although he hasn’t ruled out starting Asllani.
Meanwhile, on the right flank it is the usual situation. Both Matteo Darmian and Denzel Dumfries are vying for a starting spot.
But according to Sky, Inzaghi is now leaning towards Dumfries.
