Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta addressed the media in the build-up to tonight’s UEFA Champions League match against Arsenal.
During his brief chat with Sky Sport, via FCInterNews, Marotta discussed numerous crucial topics, including Oaktree’s plans for the Nerazzurri.
A high-stakes clash against the Premier League title hopefuls has generated plenty of attention.
Indeed, Inter and Arsenal are level on points ahead of the kick-off, with both teams yet to concede a goal in Europe this term.
Therefore, Beppe Marotta had to deliver his view of the game.
“The Champions League is the most important competition but also the greatest training ground because there are high-level opponents,” he said.
“Beyond the technical and competitive qualities that each player has, I believe the most important characteristic is motivation and approach.
“These are things you acquire over time.
“Our path in this sense is one of continuous growth, so we face this game knowing these are the most important aspects to manage.”

Inter have thrived since Oaktree acquired the ownership, largely thanks to their professional relationship with Marotta.
“The intelligence of ownership also lies in giving extensive delegation to management in operational management.
“As for Oaktree, I’ve noticed great passion from them, which is what ownership should provide: security, which they’re giving us.
“Their presence shows a strong sense of belonging from them and a great desire to measure ourselves against high-level opponents.
“They’re always within the financial, economic, and technical parameters we’ve set, as sustainability is the imperative we must respect.”
Marotta also discussed the club’s plans for January.
“At the moment, we have a balanced team of both young and experienced players,” he revealed.
“We don’t have any particular needs.
“I absolutely don’t think we’ll make any moves unless an opportunity arises with a young talent who fits our profile.”
Finally, Napoli’s resurgence under Antonio Conte threatens to challenge Inter’s Scudetto credentials.
The two teams will lock horns at Giuseppe Meazza next weekend.
“It’s an important match. Today there are eleven players on the field, but it doesn’t mean they will be the same ones who will play against Napoli.
“The coach will choose who to put on the field.
“Sunday will be an equally challenging game that must be approached with the right mentality.”
