Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti praised Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez for his leadership skills.
During his recent interview with Cronache di Spogliatoio. as reported by FCInterNews, Zanetti touched on several topics, including Yann Bisseck’s impending renewal.
Bisseck has agreed to sign a new contract at Giuseppe Meazza despite his current deal expiring in 2028.
Indeed, he’ll pledge his future to the defending Serie A champions until 2029.
In the process, he’ll double his wages.
“We have extended his contract because he has fit perfectly into the Inter world and has matured as a player and a man,” Zanetti said.
Zanetti, who captained Inter to the famous treble in 2010, recalled the jubilant UEFA Champions League night.
Diego Milito’s iconic brace inspired the Nerazzurri to a 2-0 win against Bayern Munich in the title showpiece.
The Argentine’s heroics completed Inter’s historic season under Jose Mourinho.
“My night between Madrid and Milan never really ended,” Zanetti stated. “I didn’t sleep.
“Returning as captain with the trophy was pure peace and joy.
“If you look at my face with the cup, that’s not me. Inside, there’s the pain of May 5th and all the defeats that made us stronger.”
