Inter Milan and Italy legend Marco Materazzi believes Simone Inzaghi is an option for Premier League trio Man City, Man United and Arsenal.

Materazzi told The Italian Football Podcast and SempreInter.com exclusively at an event hosted by LuckyBlock.com, he hopes Simone Inzaghi stays at Inter Milan. This as the cycle at the Nerazzurri hasn’t ended.

A sentiment echoed by Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta recently

However, the 2010 Champions League winner added that Inzaghi is a profile that would suit the top teams in the Premier League.

Materazzi also won the 2006 FIFA World Cup for Italy after Zinedine Zidane was shown a red card for a headbutt on the Italian defender.

Inter Milan Legend Marco Materazzi: “Simone Inzaghi An Option For Arsenal, Man United & Man City”

Materazzi was asked if the style of football the former Lazio coach plays suits the Premier League. He was also asked which clubs in particular Simone Inzaghi’s style of football would work in.

“I am an Inter fan. So I hope he stays at Inter because his job there hasn’t been finished yet. I think he is a good profile for the Premier League.

“Maybe Arteta, who is one of the best coaches in the Premier League, but for me Arsenal is one of the clubs in my opinion for Simone.

“Maybe Manchester United. And Manchester City too, because nobody knows what Pep will do.

“But I hope Simone stays in Italy. I’m not his manager. I’m his friend because we played each other and we have a good relationship. I can’t decide on his fate.”

Marco Materazzi: “Inter Milan Vs Napoli For Serie A Title, Inter Have A Good Chance To Win Champions League”

The former Inter Milan treble winning hero was then asked about his former club’s chances of winning the Serie A as well as the Champions League.

“I hope Inter win the Serie A but it’s a tough question. Napoli are not easy. For me it’s either Inter or Napoli. Conte is a very good manager, he is very strong. Both of these teams can win.

“Inter have a good chance to win [Champions League] because they score a lot of goals but don’t concede.

“They are very strong. I hope they will win because we lost the final in Istanbul two years ago.
Last year we were unlucky in Madrid, maybe we deserved to win by more goals at San Siro.

“But we lost in Madrid after we scored the first goal from Dimarco. If I don’t say Inter I say Man City.

“I say Man City because now they have a lot of problems and injuries. This means they can rest and restart fit.”

Marco Materazzi: “Napoli Defender Buongiorno Impressed Me, Acerbi 50 Years Old But One Of Best Defenders In Italy”

The five time Serie A champions was then asked to weigh in on if his former club made a mistake not trying harder to sign Alessandro Buongiorno.

This given the age of both Stefan de Vrij but more so Francesco Acerbi.

“I was at the San Siro and watched the game [Inter vs Napoli]. It was an impressive game by Buongiorno.

“Because in 1 vs 1 against Thuram, because Thuram is strong and fast but for Buongiorno it was easy to catch him.

“But Napoli maybe paid €40m for him. Now minimum they want not double but €60 million.

“If Antonio Conte stays in Napoli maybe Buongiorno will stay in Napoli. It is a good team and good club.

“Ok, Acerbi is maybe 50-60-70 years old but last match he was the Man Of The Match. Lukaku didn’t touch a ball in that game.

“For me age is important but not that important. If he is fit he can play until 38-39 years old we will see. At the moment Acerbi is one of the best defenders in Italy.”

Marco Materazzi joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2001. He spent 10 seasons at the club, featuring times across all competitions, scoring 20 goals in the process.

He won 14 trophies during his 10 years, including the historic Continental Treble in 2010, becoming the first team from Italy to do so.
