Nicolo Barella has returned to the Italy squad after missing out on October’s call-up due to injury.

Alongside Alessandro Bastoni, Davide Frattesi, and Federico Dimarco, he’s one of four Inter stars expected to be in the starting line-up.

Luciano Spalletti heavily relies on the Nerazzurri aces and will likely field them from the first minute against Belgium.

Asked what he expects from tomorrow’s game, Barella replied: “It will be a difficult match.

“We must not let ourselves be influenced by the first leg. Before the incident, it was a match dominated by Italy.

“But they are at home, and they will want to show how strong they are. I hope it will be a great match for the fans.”

Barella refused to hide his excitement for returning to the national team.

“Being here with my teammates? I definitely missed it.

“There are teammates I’ve been working and playing with for many years, so it feels like I never left.

“I kept in touch with some of them, and others are my club teammates.

“I’m feeling great, and I thank them for the fantastic matches they played while I was away.

“The situation we were in during my last time with the national team wasn’t easy, especially mentally.

“But they showed great strength,” he added.

He also enjoys facing Belgium, having netted twice against De Rode Duivels in the past.

“Yes, definitely. I was talking about it with my teammates today – let’s just say they’ve been one of my ‘favorite victims.’

“But every match has its own story, and of course, if I manage to score or put in a good performance, I

“I’d be happy. That said, the coach makes the decisions, and I’ll be ready whenever I’m called upon.

“And if it’s not me, it’ll be another teammate.”

Meanwhile, Barella commented on the intensity of Italy’s recent training sessions.

Spalletti said the ball moved at lightning speed in the last training.

“That’s true. I can confirm it,” Barella stated. “I’ve had good feelings on the pitch and a lot of confidence.

“Again, the team has shown on the field that they’re capable of doing very well.

“I’ll try to reintegrate and give my contribution if the coach wants me to.”
