Juventus will likely intensify their pursuit of former Inter Milan captain Milan Skriniar in the January transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Bianconeri sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is the Slovak center-back’s big admirer and wants to lure him back to Serie A.
Milan Skriniar left Inter as a free agent in the summer of 2023 to join Paris Saint-Germain on a multi-year contract.
Despite his household status at Giuseppe Meazza, he had refused to renew his deal with the Nerazzurri.
Therefore, after six years at the club, Skriniar departed Serie A for a new challenge in France.
However, it’s been an unwise decision.
PSG boss Luis Enrique has demoted the Slovakia international to the bench.
With several defenders ahead of him in the pecking order, Skriniar is now desperate to cut ties with the perennial Ligue 1 champions.
Juventus Ready to Step Up Their Pursuit of Ex Inter Milan Star Milan Skriniar
Juventus are eager to reinforce their defensive ranks this winter.
After losing Gleison Bremer to a season-ending injury, Thiago Motta has suffered another setback.
Indeed, Juan Cabal, who chose Turin over Inter in the summer, has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
With two such vital pieces out of the equation, Juventus must dive back into the market to address the emergency.
Giuntoli has already initiated contact with Skriniar’s representatives.
The 29-year-old is open to returning to Serie A after only making four appearances this season.
However, teaming up with Juventus would be an act of betrayal, given his Inter past.
Unfortunately, Skriniar demonstrated his lack of loyalty at the tail-end of his Nerazzurri stint.
He chose PSG’s petrodollars over the Inter captaincy. And it hasn’t turned out well.
Juventus will likely offer him an escape route from the Parc des Princes, with Giuntoli seeing him as a cost-effective solution.
