Inter Milan have reportedly found an accord with Yann Bisseck over a new contract, and the signatures could ensue in the next few hours.
The German defender was among a host of players who arrived at Appiano Gentile last summer. And while he initially arrived as a relative unknown, he slowly but surely built himself a reputation as one of the best up-and-coming defenders in Italian football.
Last season, the 23-year-old served as a backup for Benjamin Pavard in the right centre-back role. Nevertheless, he managed to impress when called upon.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi has been increasingly relying on his services this season. He’s also been covering for Alessandro Bastoni on the left side for the back-three whenever required.
Hence, the management has been working on armoring him with a new and improved contract over the past few months.
Bisseck’s current deal runs until June 2028, but he remains one of the lowest earners in the squad. His current salary is circa 700,000 euros per season.
However, this is about to change soon.
According to Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri have accelerated their negotiations with the player’s entourage over the past few days, and the white smoke has now emerged.
Inter Milan & Yann Bisseck Find Agreement Over New Contract
The source reveals that the two parties have reached an agreement that will push back the deadline until June 2029.
Moreover, the new deal will double the salary of the Koln native. The source expects his net wages to reach around 1.5 million euros.
Sky believes the official announcement could be imminent, as the parties could put ink to paper in the next few hours.
This season, Bisseck has thus far made seven appearances in Serie A. He has also been a recurring presence in the club’s Champions League campaign, featuring in all four European contests, including three as a starter.
