Inter Milan will soon regain the services of their wingback Carlos Augusto who has been out of action over the past few weeks.
The former Monza has been out of action since picking up a hamstring problem during the trip to Bern.
The Nerazzurri earned a last-gasp victory over Young Boys thanks to Marcus Thuram’s late winner. However, it was a bittersweet occasion for Agusto who returned home injured.
Nevertheless, the versatile Brazilian is now on the cusp of making his return to the squad.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Augusto has been working separately recently but will resume training with his teammates over the next few days.
With 15 players out on international duty, Simone Inzaghi will be working with a depleted squad for the next week. But this would give Augusto the opportunity to slowly reintegrate himself back into the fold.
The pink newspaper expects the Brazil international to be available for Inter’s upcoming fixture.
Carlos Augusto Ready To Make Return From Injury In Next Inter Milan Contest
The Nerazzurri will restart their Serie A campaign after the international break with a trip to the Bentegodi Stadium. They will take on Hellas Verona on Saturday, November 23rd. They will then host RB Leipzig three days later in the Champions League.
And while Augusto is unlikely to start against the Gialloblu, Inzaghi could give him a short cameo.
The former Monza man might not be a regular starter for the Italian champions, but he has an important role to play this season.
He has been serving as a backup for both Federico Dimarco in the left wingback role and Alessandro Bastoni in the left centre-back position. This has been the case due to Tajon Buchanan’s injury.
Augusto has made nine appearances across all competitions this season, contributing with a single assist.
