As the January transfer window approaches, Inter Milan’s pursuit of Udinese defender Jaka Bijol faces competition from Serie A rivals Napoli.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, the Partenopei have placed Bijol high on their list of defensive targets as they look to strengthen their backline.

The Slovenian international, who has been a standout performer for Udinese, has long been of interest to Inter, with the Nerazzurri monitoring his progress closely.

However, Napoli’s sporting director, Mauro Manna, has reportedly taken note of Bijol’s impressive form, with the strong relationship between the league leaders and Udinese potentially facilitating a deal.

Napoli have also shown interest Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, with the Poland international struggling for playing time in North London.

The former Spezia player has also been linked with Inter in recent months and the Nerazzurri may will swoop for him should he remain out of the picture at the Emirates Stadium.
