Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is yet to decide who to turn to when picking his attack against Hellas Verona and it could come down to Lautaro Martinez’s physical condition.

According to today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, Martinez is often the last of Inter’s first team squad to return from international duty due to his commitments with Argentina in 2026 World Cup Qualifying in South America.

Indeed, Argentina are due to face Peru on Tuesday night and Martinez is not expected to return to Italy until Thursday.

With Inter set to take on Verona on Saturday, Inzaghi will assess the striker’s condition given he will only be available for two training sessions.

Iran international Mehdi Taremi is ready to fill in and it is believed that the spot alongside Marcus Thuram in attack will be between him and Martinez.

As yet, Inzaghi is undecided but performances and conditions of the pair by the end of the week will determine who is given the starting role.
