Inter Milan could be ready to rival AC Milan to sign Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci, but only if Hakan Calhanoglu leaves.

This according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. They report that the Nerazzurri are laying the groundwork for a summer move for Ricci in the event that they sell Calhanoglu.

Former Empoli midfielder Ricci looks like he will not be at Torino for all that much longer.

The 23-year-old has been in outstanding form for the first few months of the Serie A season.

This has also earned Ricci a regular place in the Italy national team starting eleven. He has also impressed with his performances for the Azzurri.

And Ricci is most likely to get a big move within Serie A.

Reports in the last few days have indicated that AC Milan are strongly pushing to sign the Italian international.

The Rossoneri are aiming for a midfield rebuild. And Ricci would check every box they’re looking for to make their new linchpin in central areas.

Inter Ready To Rival AC Milan For Samuele Ricci If Hakan Calhanoglu

It’s not just Milan who are keen on Ricci, however.

Inter are also big admirers of the Torino midfielder’s talents. They have kept him on their radar, and made note of his growth this season.

Therefore, Inter would also be ready to try and beat their city rivals to Ricci’s signing.

But according to TMW, Inter would only move for Ricci on one condition.

The Nerazzurri would see the 23-year-old as a prospective replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.

Calhanoglu is a vital player for Inter. Therefore, they would not take the idea of selling the Turkish international lightly.

However, Calhanoglu will be 31 at the end of the current season.

And there is still a real possibility of big offers arriving for the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder’s signature.

If Inter are to decide to cash in on Calhanoglu, then Ricci would be one of the prime candidates as far as players they see as a capable replacement, reports TMW.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri would be fully ready to go head-to-head with Milan to sign the Italian international.
