Former Lazio Sporting Direcotr Igli Tare believes Inter Milan’s Joaquin Correa “has everything to be a top player.”

Tare gave his thoughts on Correa speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews.

Inter forward Correa announced his return to the Nerazzurri starting eleven in a big way on Saturday.

The 30-year-old was making his first start of the season against Hellas Verona in Serie A. And he made the most of it, scoring one goal and assisting a further two while hitting the crossbar twice.

However, this was a surprising sight from Correa.

For much of his time at Inter, the Argentine has failed to show that kind of end product or consistency.

Injuries and physical issues have seemingly held Correa back. Then there has been an evident lack of confidence from him at times.

Last season Correa was out on loan at Marseille in Ligue 1. However, he failed to make any sort of impact there.

Lazio Sporting Director Igli Tare: “Joaquin Correa Has Everything To Be A Top Player”

When Inter signed Correa in 2021, they did so because of his performances at Lazio.

The Argentine had already impressed with Sampdoria in Serie A and Sevilla in La Liga.

But it had been after Tare had brought Correa to Lazio that he really showed his best form.

Correa was one of the most consistent attacking players in Serie A across three seasons with the Biancocelesti.

Therefore, it came as a big disappointment that he had not regularly reproduced that form in an Inter shirt.

Former Lazio Sporting Director Tare said that “Correa is a complete player.”

“Sometimes his character can cause problems for him. But in terms of technical quality, he’s formidable.”

“He has everything to be a top player,” Tare argued of Correa.

He added that “His goal made me very happy.”

“Because when he finds the spark, it’s very difficult to stop him.”

“The fact that he started means that Inzaghi was happy with what he saw from him in training, and he’s giving him the confidence that he needs.”
