Inter Milan are likely to lose Benjamin Pavard for the rest of 2024 after the Frenchman sustained a thigh strain.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that Pavard could be back for Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana against Atalanta.

Inter defender Pavard underwent medical tests with the Nerazzurri medical staff today.

These confirmed that the 29-year-old has suffered a thigh strain during Tuesday’s Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

Pavard started that match. But he had to come off late in the first half of the 1-0 win.

And medical tests have confirmed that Pavard has suffered a strain to the biceps femoris muscle of his left hamstring.

Naturally, Pavard will be on the sidelines for some time as he recovers.

And according to Sky, it will be a few weeks for the Frenchman.

Pavard will not just miss Inter’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina next weekend. He will also be out for subsequent matches in the league, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.

Inter take on Parma, Bayer Leverkusen, Lazio, Udinese, Como, and Cagliari before New Year’s Day.

And Sky predict Pavard will miss all those matches.

The hope is that Inter can get the former Bayern Munich defender back shortly after the new year.

Pavard could target Inter’s clash with Atalanta in the Supercoppa Italiana on January 4th as a return date.
